Sunshine Centre Switches on Castle Quay Christmas Lights
We felt privileged to be invited by the management of Castle Quay Shopping Centre to switch on their Christmas lights on Sunday 28th December. To add to our excitement we were also presented with a cheque for £599.37 towards the work of the centre. Thank you Castle Quay for your kindness and support.

The Sunshine Centre receives funding boost from B&Q Foundation
The Sunshine Centre are delighted to have received a grant from the B&Q Foundation, in partnership with giving platform Neighbourly. The £4720 grant will allow The Sunshine Centre to enhance the outside areas. Thank You to the Rotary Club of Cherwell Banbury
The Sunshine Centre was extremely pleased to be chosen as one of charities to receive a donation of £750 from a fundraising event held by the Rotary Club Banbury. Staff and Trustees attended an evening to accept the monies and express our gratitude. This money will support and help to sustain the work of The Sunshine Centre. Chair of Trustees John Bridgeman accepted the award from the District 1090 Governor.
Sun Shines for Family Games day in Princess Diana Park
The weather was glorious for The Sunshine Centre’s Outdoor Family Games session. Lots of laughter and smiles filled the session which lasted 2 hours. The time soon drifted away with both children and adults exploring the area and equipment, having fun together and finding fun new things to do. Waitrose kindly donate £1000 to The Sunshine Centre
The Sunshine Centre would like to thank Waitrose for their very kind donation of £1000 which has enabled us to replace the flooring in one of our nursery rooms. A very much needed piece of maintenance which has transformed the space for our children when they return in September.
Life throws challenges
The Sunshine Centre in Banbury Oxfordshire is a registered charity formed in January 1998. It was born from a community response for a need to support vulnerable families in an area of high deprivation. Sunshine through the Storm
The Sunshine Centre has remained open throughout the pandemic, for many months being the only voluntary agency available to the local community. We adapted our working practice to address the needs of children and families. As time went on, we found ourselves supporting the elderly, adults with learning difficulties, people with poor mental health, pregnant women, new parents, other vulnerable adults and children as well as those self-isolating and shielding. Two programs run by Activate Learning are continuing during lockdown. Back on Track and Removing Barriers Rebuilding Lives are both still operating, although face-to-face meetings have been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
